The National Federation of the Blind
of Connecticut
Dedication

In Memory Of
Esther Carmella Quaranda Levegnale
April 3, 1920 - January 29, 2003

Late Wednesday evening, January 29, 2003, Mrs. Esther Levegnale, wife of Michael Levegnale and beloved mother of Esther Levegnale, died peacefully at Waterbury Hospital. Esther was a faithful member and friend of the National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut. For many years Esther and Mike worked tirelessly with and for the Waterbury Chapter, rounding up donations and organizing fund raising spaghetti suppers. She believed in the philosophy of the National Federation of the Blind, confident in the abilities of not only her daughter, but in the abilities of all blind persons. Her dedication to the raising of her daughter, Esther, showed no bounds and, through living the philosophy and encouraging her daughter to pursue dreams, she laid the foundation for Esther's success. Esther Senior, as she often referred to herself, was a loving, caring woman who will be greatly missed amongst our membership. Out thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends she leaves behind. We dedicate this issue of The Federationist in Connecticut in honor of her memory, her spirit, and for her belief and dedication to our mission.
