ENTERING JOBLINE - PRESS ONE (1)
DURING
THE OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT

Calling for the first time: Jobline requires you to enter your ten-digit telephone number (including area code) and a four-digit password, which will be used as an ID any time you call.

Creating Your ID: After pressing "1" to enter, press pound (#) and enter your telephone number (with area code), followed by pound (#) again. Then, when prompted, enter a four-digit number of your choice for your password. This completes your ID. At this point you are admitted to Jobline and ready to start at the main menu.

Calling Again: When calling Jobline again, press "1" during the opening announcement, and enter you telephone number (with area code) followed by the pound (#). When prompted, enter your password to reach the main menu.

RETURNING TO THE MAIN MENU -
PRESS STAR TWICE (**).

Once admitted to Jobline you can always return to the main menu from any other menu by pressing the star key twice (**).

YOUR JOB SEARCH PROFILE(S) -
MAIN MENU - PRESS ONE (1).

You must first have a profile in order to search for jobs. Your profile consists of a major job category and subcategory which best match your interests and qualifications, and the area of the country where you would like to search. Options to search by zip code, state, or nationwide are available. Once created, a profile can be changed by selecting it and following the prompts.

Creating Your Profile. Press "1" from the main menu to enter the profile menu. Jobline will list any profiles already stored, or prompt you to choose the type of search you want from options presented. Next, as the major job categories are presented, press "1" to choose a category and subcategory, then confirm by following the prompts. To navigate through the categories and subcategories use the standard keypad functions (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide).

If your search is not nationwide, Jobline will ask you to enter a zip code or identify the state from a list presented. If you enter a zip code, you will be prompted to choose a mileage range (up to 500 miles) around the zip code you entered. This completes your profile.

Selecting or Changing Your Profile. Once created, a profile must be selected to use it for a job search, and it can also help in creating a resume. To select a profile immediately after creating it, press "1" when prompted. The profile will be selected and you will be back at the main menu. You can select or create a different profile or change an existing one at any time by pressing "1" from the main menu and following the prompts. The profile you have selected can then by used to create a resume by pressing "2" and will be used for a job search by pressing "3".

YOUR RESUME(S) - MAIN MENU - PRESS TWO (2).

You can create, store and send resumes to employers with jobs found in your job search. Each resume is a personal statement of your qualifications based on your responses to specific interview questions. The interview questions are designed to provide the employer with information needed to evaluate your job skilss and qualifications for the position available.

Creating Your Resume. Press "2" from the main menu to enter the resume menu. Jobline will list any resumes already stored, or proceed with an interview if there are none. If a profile has been selected, you will be offered the option of using it for your resume or building the resume without a selected profile. Your profile will determine the interview questions presented to you.

To begin the interview, if you have not already selected a profile, navigate through the job categories and subcategories using the standard keypad functions (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide). Press "1" to choose a major job category and subcategory from the list presented and confirm by following the prompts.

Your resume requires contact information and can also include a personal qualifications statement. You will be prompted to record your name, street address, and email address (if you have one). You will be asked to provide your zip code, telephone number, and fax number (if you have one) by using the touch-tone keypad.

For the interview you will be asked a series of questions related to the job category and subcategory you selected. Follow the prompts to respond to each questions and confirm your answers. After the last question, you will have an opportunity to record a personal qualifications statement which will be transcribed and appear in the text of your resume. You can also choose to have a resume produced without this statement, or you can choose to save the information and record a statement later.

Reviewing or Changing Your Resume(s). Press "2" from the main menu to enter the resume menu. Jobline will list any resumes stored and prompt you to select the one you would like to review or edit. You will first hear your contact information and be given the option to accept or change it. The review will continue by presenting statements based on answers you gave and will conclude with your personal qualifications statement, offering you the option to accept or change the information. When the review is complete, you will be back at the main menu.

YOUR JOB SEARCH - MAIN MENU -
PRESS THREE (3).

Before you do a job search you must have a profile selected by pressing "1" from the main menu and following the prompts. Your job search can then begin by pressing "3" from the main menu. The system will respond with the number of jobs found that match your profile. While hearing the list of job titles, press "1" to apply or hear more details, or press "2" to save a job and hear it later. Use the standard keypad functions to navigate through the list (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide).

Applying for a Job. You can apply for a job at any point in the job search information by pressing "1", and following the prompts. A resume which you have created on Jobline will be sent directly to an employer or job service agency. Otherwise, you can copy down the employer's contact information to use it for yourself. You will be offered the option of reviewing and changing the resume each time before it is sent. Use the standard keypad functions to navigate through the job details and application information (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide).

YOUR SAVED JOBS - MAIN MENU -
PRESS FOUR (4).

If you find a job of interest, you can save it to review later by pressing "2" when you hear the job title or at any point when listening to the job details. You can navigate through the saved jobs list with the standard Jobline keypad functions (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide). Press "1" to apply or get more details, or press "2" to delete a job from your saved list. To listen to your saved jobs at any time, go to the main menu and press "4".

YOUR APPLICATION STATUS REPORTS -
MAIN MENU - PRESS FIVE (5).

You can confirm when a resume has been sent to an employer. The report will remain on Jobline for two weeks. The system will provide you with this information, but contacting the employer directly to follow-up is your responsibility. To navigate throuh these reports use the standard keypad functions (see standard keypad functions at the end of this guide).
